Adding and Managing Vehicle Types

Adding and Managing Vehicle Types

Vehicle Types in SalesDriver.

Overview

This module walks through how to set up and manage vehicle types in OpsDriver. Vehicle types help define the features, appearance, and pricing logic for the different vehicles in your fleet, and directly impact customer-facing tools like the Booking Widget.

1. Accessing Vehicle Types

Steps:

  1. From the main dashboard, go to Company Setup

  2. Click Vehicle Types

This will take you to a screen where you can view, add, and manage all configured vehicle types.

2. Creating a New Vehicle Type

To add a new vehicle type:

  1. Click Create New Vehicle Type

  2. Enter the required fields:

    • Vehicle Display Name

    • Capacity

Optional Setup Fields:

  • Price Indicator

    • Shows customers a rough price comparison between vehicle types in the Booking Widget.

  • Amenities

    • Check off available features like Wi-Fi, Seat Belts, Power Outlets, Lavatory, and Luggage Space.

  • Vehicle Images

    • Upload up to 3 images:

      • Primary (booking widget display)

      • Image 2 and 3 (shown in the “More Info” view)

      • Recommended size: 1024x683 pixels

  • Long Description

    • Describe the vehicle in more detail, including:

      • Target group types (e.g., sports teams, church groups)

      • Specific uses (e.g., long-distance, daily shuttle)

3. Controlling Visibility

If a vehicle type should not be visible to customers (e.g., shop or backup vehicles):

  • Check the option to Hide from Customer View

This:

  • Keeps the vehicle type available in OpsDriver for scheduling

  • Hides it from customers using the Booking Widget

4. Managing Display Order in the Booking Widget

To control the order in which vehicles appear:

  1. Drag and drop vehicle types into your preferred order

  2. Changes are auto-saved immediately

This helps highlight premium or popular vehicles first in the booking flow.

5. Deleting a Vehicle Type

To remove a vehicle type:

  1. Click on the record

  2. Choose Delete

This is a soft delete—TBN can recover deleted vehicle types in the background if needed. They’ll be hidden from view and reports.

Best Practices

  • Use descriptive names to help customers and dispatch teams differentiate vehicles

  • Hide internal-use-only vehicles from the widget to avoid confusion

  • Keep photos up to date with fleet branding and current vehicle appearances

  • Use sort order strategically to promote preferred or most profitable options
