Copy a quote

Copy a quote-

Sometimes to speed up the quote process it is easiest to simply copy an old quote. In SalesDriver that not only bring in the proper quote details but also recalculates the price based on the current pricing for the days in question. This video will show you how.

Overview

This module explains how to use the Copy Quote function in OpsDriver. This feature allows you to duplicate an existing quote—perfect for repeat customers or annual events—while updating the date and pricing automatically.

1. When to Use the Copy Quote Feature

The Copy Quote tool is ideal for scenarios like:

  • A sports team rebooking a similar trip from the previous season

  • A church group repeating their annual retreat

  • Any recurring or repeat customer itinerary

Instead of building a new quote from scratch, you can duplicate the old one and update only what’s changed.

2. How to Copy a Quote

Steps:

  1. Locate the original quote in the system.

    • You can find it via quote ID, customer name, or past trip search.

  2. Open the quote.

  3. Click the Copy Quote button at the top of the page.

You will be prompted to choose:

  • Copy current quote (most common)

  • Or Copy all variations (if the quote has multiple options)

3. Selecting a New Date

After clicking “Copy Current Quote”:

  1. A date picker will appear.

  2. Choose the new date for the upcoming trip (e.g., August 24, 2024).

  3. Click Create Quote.

4. What Happens Next

OpsDriver will:

  • Generate a brand-new quote

  • Carry over:

    • The full itinerary

    • Vehicle selection

    • Add-ons

    • Attached documents

  • Re-run the pricing based on the new date using the current pricing calendar

This ensures pricing is up to date with your latest rules, fees, and calendar settings.

5. Final Review

After copying:

  • Review the new quote for accuracy

  • Update any unique details (e.g., customer notes, contact updates, or new discounts)

  • Send the updated quote to the customer when ready

Best Practices

  • Always confirm pricing reflects the correct calendar and vehicle availability

  • Rename or re-tag the quote with the new event year or season

  • Archive or flag the old quote to avoid confusion
