Creating a new quote from an existing booking

Overview

This module explains how to quickly create a new quote using the details of an existing booking. This feature is helpful for repeat trips, modified requests, or rebooking events on new dates with the same structure.

When to Use This Feature

You should use “Quote from Booking” when:

A customer wants to rebook a past trip

You want to use a previous booking as a template

You’re quoting the same trip for a different date

This saves time by copying over contacts, itinerary, vehicles, and pricing.

Creating a Quote from a Booking

Steps:

1. Go to the Booking Detail Page of the trip you want to copy.

2. At the top of the page, click the "Quote from Booking" button.

Setting the New Quote Date

After clicking the button:

1. A prompt will appear asking for the date of the new quote.

•      Example: If the original trip was in May, you might enter July 10 as the new quote date.

2. Enter the new date and click Make Quote.

What Happens Next

TBN will automatically:

Create a new quote using all the details from the original booking

Assign a new Quote ID

Brings over: Booking Pricing, Contact information, Itinerary details, Vehicle assignments, Any associated contract rate, Updates the itinerary dates to reflect the new quoted trip date

Alert
This process uses the price of the booking to set the price of the new quote. To update the booking to current pricing you need to use the edit stops function to re-run the pricing if you so desire.

Final Review

You’ll be taken to the new quote screen where you can:

Review and adjust any trip details

Send the quote to the customer

Add or remove vehicles or services as needed

Best Practices

Double-check the new quote’s date and itinerary for accuracy

Adjust pricing or add-ons if seasonal changes apply

Use this feature to simplify quoting for repeat customers or frequent event types
