Creating a quote in the admin panel

Overview

This module explains how to create a new quote using the Admin Portal in OpsDriver. It covers the entire quoting process—from adding customer information and building route segments to assigning vehicles and adjusting pricing.

1. Starting a New Quote

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Sales > Quotes

  2. Click Create a New Quote

You’ll be prompted to enter basic customer information:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email Address

Click Save to generate the quote record. The next available quote ID will be assigned.

2. Building Route Segments

Once the quote is saved:

  1. Click Edit Stops

  2. Choose the Yard (starting location)

  3. Begin entering your destinations

    • Destinations are integrated with Google Maps and support auto-complete

  4. Enter your trip dates and times

As you enter times, TBN will auto-calculate route timing (e.g., drive time, arrival, and return).

3. Using Route Tools

You can speed up route building using tools like:

  • Return Directly to Origin

    • Auto-creates a return segment to your starting location

  • Manual editing:

    • Update departure times to auto-update the rest of the schedule

    • Update arrival times manually if needed

Click Save once all segments are created.

4. Adding a Vehicle

Steps:

  1. Click Add Vehicle

  2. Choose the vehicle type

  3. Enter the quantity of vehicles

  4. Click Save

The system will automatically calculate the base pricing for the trip based on your pricing engine and calendar.

5. Adjusting the Quote Price (Optional)

If needed:

  1. Click the Edit button next to the calculated price

  2. Enter a custom total

  3. Click Save

This overrides the automated pricing for the quote.

6. Sending or Viewing the Quote

Once the quote is built:

  • You can send it to the customer

  • Or view the Quote PDF or Quote Summary

These documents reflect all pricing, route, and contact info entered and are ready for customer review.

Best Practices

  • Use Google Maps integration for accurate time and mileage estimates

  • Leverage tools like “Return to Origin” for faster segment building

  • Review all pricing and timing before sending to the customer

  • Save frequently to avoid losing changes
