Inviting Drivers to the Driver Portal

Video Overview

This module explains how to invite drivers to the Driver Portal in OpsDriver, set their login credentials, and provide access to view, accept, and manage trip assignments.

1. What Is the Driver Portal?

The Driver Portal allows drivers to:

  • View upcoming trips

  • Accept or decline assignments

  • See pickup/drop-off info

  • Print work tickets (if needed)

Each company has a unique portal URL where drivers log in using their email and password.

2. Adding or Accessing a Driver Profile

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Go to Company Setup > Drivers.

  2. Click on an existing driver or create a new one.

  3. Ensure the following fields are completed:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email Address

These three fields are required for portal access.

3. Setting the Driver’s Password

  • If the driver has never been set up:

    • Click Create Password

  • If the driver has an account already:

    • Click Update Password

Tips:

  • Choose a secure temporary password

  • Share the login credentials with the driver manually

  • They can later change their password from the portal

4. Driver Login Process

Each company has a unique Driver Portal URL (e.g., sample.tbnportal.com/driver).

Driver Login Instructions:

  1. Visit the portal link

  2. Enter the email address and password

  3. Click Sign In

5. What Drivers See Inside the Portal

Dashboard Overview:

  • calendar view of assigned trips

  • Yellow blocks indicate trips that are assigned but not yet accepted

  • Clicking a block shows:

    • Trip name and date

    • Pickup and drop-off times

    • Vehicle type

    • Accept/Decline button

Once accepted, the trip updates in real time for dispatch and ops visibility.

6. Best Practices

  • Assign portal access as part of the new driver onboarding process

  • Confirm drivers know how to accept trips and view assignments

  • Regularly verify driver email addresses are accurate
