This module explains how to configure base vehicle pricing in TBN, including daily, hourly, and mileage-based pricing. It also covers how the system compares and selects the best rate, and how add-ons can supplement trip costs with optional or required fees.
Go to Company Setup > Vehicle Types.
Select the vehicle type you want to configure pricing for.
Each vehicle type has its own pricing section and supports multiple rate categories.
TBN’s pricing system supports three primary pricing types:
Sets a minimum daily rate for chartering a vehicle.
Supports:
Single-day minimums
Multi-day minimums
Allows additional daily fees such as:
Wi-Fi charges
Cleaning fees
Overnight fees (only apply on multi-day trips)
Charges based on the number of hours a vehicle is in use.
Useful for local, time-based charter work.
Calculates price based on the miles traveled.
Ideal for long-distance charters.
TBN’s pricing engine compares all three types for each quote and automatically selects the highest value to ensure your company’s minimum thresholds are protected.
You can configure fuel surcharges as:
A percentage per mile
A percentage per live mile only
This fee is added on top of the selected pricing method and appears in the quote calculation.
At the bottom of each pricing section, you’ll see the equation summary showing how your pricing will be calculated, including:
Base rate logic (daily, hourly, mileage)
Surcharge details
Any included thresholds or exceptions
Add-ons let you add additional charges to a quote, such as:
Bottled water
Wi-Fi
Credit card fees
Driver gratuity
Driver relief costs
Each add-on can be priced by:
Per hour
Per day
Per mile
Per vehicle
Flat rate
Percentage
Per passenger
User-defined value (e.g., for gratuity)
You can also choose to:
Show add-ons in the booking widget
Hide certain add-ons (e.g., internal costs like driver relief) from customer view
To hide an add-on:
Click Edit next to the add-on.
Check the “Hide from customer view” box.
Use daily minimums to ensure profitability on short trips.
Use hourly and mileage pricing for flexibility across trip types.
Add-ons offer a powerful tool for customizing the customer experience and generating additional revenue.
Always verify that only one pricing method is actively selected per vehicle type.
Review your active pricing equation for clarity and completeness.
Regularly review and update your add-ons to reflect current service costs or sales goals.
Test pricing scenarios using the quote tool to validate the logic works as intended.
