Overview

This guide explains how to resolve the “white screen” issue that can occur when attempting to log in to OpsDriver. The root cause is typically related to browser caching, and this module walks users through clearing that cache and alternative login methods.

1. Use Google Chrome

First Recommendation:

  • Make sure you are using Google Chrome as your browser.

  • OpsDriver is QA-tested primarily in Chrome and performs best there.

If you’re using a different browser (e.g., Safari or Edge), switch to Chrome before continuing.

2. Clear Cache in Chrome

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots in the top-right corner.

  3. Go to Settings.

  4. Navigate to Privacy and Security > Clear Browsing Data.

  5. Switch to the Advanced tab.

  6. Set the Time Range to All Time.

  7. Check only the following:

    • Cached images and files

    • Cookies and other site data

  8. Click Clear Data.

This clears old session data and should fix most white screen login issues.

3. Use Incognito Mode

If clearing your cache doesn’t work:

  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Click the three dots again.

  3. Select New Incognito Window.

  4. Navigate to the OpsDriver login page and sign in.

Incognito mode ignores previously stored cookies and cache, which often resolves display problems.

4. Try an Alternate Browser

If Chrome continues to give issues even in Incognito mode:

  • Use Mozilla Firefox.

    • Firefox has shown consistent success in situations where Chrome failed.

  • Avoid using Safari or Internet Explorer, which are not officially supported.

5. Hard Reload from Developer Tools (Advanced Option)

For tech-savvy users or with IT support assistance:

  1. On the login page, press F12 to open Developer Tools.

  2. Right-click or hover over the reload button in Chrome.

  3. Choose Empty Cache and Hard Reload.

This bypasses your browser’s stored settings and forces a clean page load.

Best Practices

  • Always use Chrome for the best experience with OpsDriver.

  • Bookmark the login page in Incognito Mode as a backup.

  • Clear cache regularly if using a shared or older machine.
